Job Vacancy: Sales Executive
Salary: OTE £35k+
Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

As a Sales Executive, you will report directly to the Sales Manager, and play a vital role in greeting and liaising with our customers. You will be the customer’s all-important first point of contact and in addition to discovering the type of vehicle that they require and recommending a make and model that is most fitting to their commercial requirements, you will show our customers around the forecourt, answer all of their queries confidently and relay the important features of each vehicle in our range. Whilst also being comfortable with taking them through the best funding options available.
Maintaining the highest standard of customer service is a prerequisite and as a Sales Executive you will devote your time to delivering this requirement. Our Sales Executives must also maintain good communication and relationships with all departments to ensure that a vehicle is ready for handover and all the relevant paperwork is completed within our agreed timescales and to the standards required.

Other main duties include

  • Demonstrating vehicles to our customers – including details about its specification, payment terms and paperwork
  • Providing information and selling finance, warranties, accessories in line with company targets
  • Working with and managing the CRM system and prospect development system to create new and repeat business
  • Keeping up to date with new products, features, accessories and associated benefits
  • Liaising with the Sales Manager and Purchasing manager or equivalent for vehicle appraisals on part exchange and adhering to the appropriate process.
  • Understanding targets and performance and working towards and achieving targets in the following areas:
  • Unit Sales
  • Finance Penetration
  • Warranty Sales
  • Working with other members of the sales and customer facing teams to ensure that all vehicles are maintained correctly including:
  • Presentation of the vehicle on site
  • Price Boards
  • Compound presentation and vehicles within the compound lined up and in pristine condition
  • Working with marketing, handover and workshops to ensure that all sales enquiries / sales are managed swiftly and
  • professionally and the vehicle is available for collection or delivery within the allocated slot.

Job Vacancy: Motor Vehicle Fitter – Light Commercial Vehicles
Salary: £18K to £30K (Based on experience)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hrs per week

The Role
As a Motor Vehicle Fitter, your role at David Spear Commercial Vehicles is to diagnose the faults and defects of any vehicles presented in the workshop. Due care, skill and diligence are basic requirements for the role, whilst any necessary repairs and replacements that need to be undertaken should be completed to the highest industry standard.

As part of the diagnosis of faults and defects, you will be undertaking pre-delivery safety inspections and road tests to identify and repair the vehicle prior to it being presented for sale. Conducting servicing and repairs to a wide variety of vehicle makes and models is also a part of the role, whilst further diagnostic testing will need to be completed as and when required to identify faults that were not recognised upon physical inspection. As a market leader in the commercial vehicle world, safety is of the utmost importance to our team, and playing your own role in the maintenance of a safe and productive work environment is integral. Relevant paperwork must also be completed accurately and on time, whilst assignments must be followed through to completion and to specified deadlines.

Other main duties include

  • Testing batteries and other parts of the engine to find faults
  • Checking tyres and exhausts for defects
  • Replacing or repairing faulty parts
  • Balancing and re-aligning wheels
  • Checking a vehicle’s tracking
  • Repairing punctures (where possible).

It's not just diagnostics, inspections, repairs, servicing and paperwork that must be dealt with professionally and to the highest possible standard as part of the role, our technicians must have excellent customer service skills and offer customers expert advice regarding simple maintenance.

The Candidate
The ideal candidate for this role must:

  • Hold an NVQ Level 2 in Mechanical Engineering or above
  • Be able to work well alone or as part of a team
  • Have excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Have the practical and technical skills to fulfil the tasks detailed in ‘The Role’
  • Have basic maths skills to calculate costs and handle payments
  • Have a good level of fitness
  • Be aware of the health and safety regulations associated with vehicle maintenance.
