David Spear Commercials has been trading since 1987, so you can be assured we are a reputable Company.

Do you have a car park?

Yes we have onsite free customer parking.

What are your opening times?

Monday – Friday: 8.30am – 6.00 pm
Saturday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
Sunday:CLOSED

The only bank holiday we are open is Good Friday.

DO I NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO CALL IN?

No, please just call in we would love to see you.

CAN I GET REFRESHMENTS?

Yes, our staff will make you endless cups of teas & coffees or a soft drink if you prefer.

DO YOU ARRANGE VEHICLES FOR EXPORT?

No, but you can arrange this yourself. We will assist with the relevant documents and transport to a UK Port

We are committed to providing a high standard of service to all our customers. Occasionally we may not live up to our expectations, if this happens we want to know about it. HOW DO I APPEAL AN OUTCOME TO A VEHICLE RELATED COMPLAINT?

Can i drive the van before buying it?

Absolutely, we would encourage you to come to our premises and take the van out on a test drive with no obligation to buy.

HAVE YOUR VANS BEEN CHECKED?

Yes all our vehicles undergo a full 90 point mechanical and safety inspection by highly qualified technicians who are registered with the Institute of the Motor Industry. To view our pre delivery inspection sheet please go to our SERVICE or WARRANTY pages.

DOES THE VAN HAVE FULL SERVICE HISTORY?

Most of our vehicles have Full Service History, occasionally the vehicle will be supplied with partial history and in a small minority of cases there may be no service history. In whichever case it will always be mentioned and records of history are kept with the vehicle documentation.

DO YOUR VANS HAVE ROAD TAX?

We understand the need for vehicles to be taxed prior to taking delivery and as such allowing them to be legally driven on the road. Vehicle Tax is available at the “customers discretion” and is separate from the cost of the vehicle. Prices vary depending upon the tax band.

DOES THE VAN HAVE AN MOT?

Yes all our vehicles will have a minimum of 6 months MOT.

ARE THE TYRES LEGAL?

Yes, all tyres are checked within our 90 point pre inspection check

HOW DO I SECURE A VAN?

You can put a deposit on a vehicle over the telephone or in person, we would love to meet you at our showroom. A £200 Debit card or cash deposit would reserve the vehicle for 7 days.

IS THE £200 REFUNDABLE?

The deposit is non-refundable. We remove the vehicle from sale preventing other customers from purchasing it. The only exception is if you are not accepted for vehicle finance arranged by David Spear Commercials.

CAN I DRIVE AWAY MY VAN TODAY?

In most cases yes, all required preparation and paperwork can be completed within a few hours.

WHAT IS YOUR APR?

The APR you are quoted will depend upon the finance provider, the vehicle you have chosen and also your personal circumstances. Our APR’s are very competitive which saves you time and inconvenience.

HOW LONG CAN I TAKE OUT FINANCE FOR?

We can provide a variety of terms from as little as 12 months to 60 months depending on your budget and requirements.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PROCESS MY FINANCE APPLICATION?

In most cases a David Spear Commercials will be able to obtain a decision within minutes, in some circumstances the decision could take a little longer.

DO YOU CARRY OUT A CREDIT CHECK?

Yes, we use this information from major UK credit reference and fraud prevention agencies within the underwriting process. For more information on how credit scoring is carried out please go to www.fla.org.uk the association of Finance and Leasing (fla) will provide you with a consumer guide.

CAN YOU STILL HELP IF I HAVE RECORD OF POOR CREDIT?

Everyday thousands of people are turned down for Vehicle Finance for past credit problems or no credit score. At David Spear Commercials our staff will do their utmost to help you source a line of credit that suits your needs.

HOW MUCH DEPOSIT FOR I NEED?

Generally it ‘s 20% which is the VAT that is required however it can sometimes be lower. For more information please speak with our friendly business specialists they are at hand to help.

CAN ANYONE APPLY FOR FINANCE?

You must be 18 or over to apply for Finance under UK Law.

WHAT DOCUMENTS DO I NEED?

• Both parts of your UK/EU Driving Licence
• EU Passport if using EU Driving Licence
• 2 Utility bills issued within the last 90 days – we accept Water, Electricity, Bank statement, Council Tax statement.
Sorry we are unable to accept mobile phone bills.

HOW DO I APPEAL AN OUTCOME TO A FINANCE COMPLAINT?

We are dedicated to customer service and would aim to resolve any issues you may have as quickly and fairly as possible. Upon receiving a complaint this will be investigated and you will be provided with an outcome.If you are unsatisfied with the outcome, or your complaint has not been resolved within 8 weeks you may appeal to the Financial Ombudsmen Service. This has been set up by the Financial Services Authority to review unresolved Finance/Insurance complaints.

CAN I JUST SELL MY VAN TO YOU?

Yes we will be happy to appraise your van and give you a fair market price for it, based on age, condition, mileage and auction data. We can then buy your van with no obligation to purchase a vehicle from us. We will however most likely be able to offer you a better deal on your new vehicle if you decide to part exchange as part of the deal.

DOES MY VAN/CAR NEED TO HAVE A CURRENT MOT?

Your vehicle should not be driven without an MOT certificate however, we would still accept this as a part exchange

CAN I TRADE IN A VEHICLE THAT BELONGS TO SOMEONE ELSE?

Any vehicle we take in has to be registered to you.

CAN YOU GIVE ME A PRICE BY EMAIL OR OVER THE TELEPHONE?

As no two used vehicles/vans are the same we would need to view your vehicle to assure you of our best price. Only a ballpark figure could be advised over the telephone or by email.

WHAT IS THE OLDEST CAR/VAN YOU WILL ACCEPT?

There are no age limits as to what we will accept, just bring your vehicle in for a valuation.

HOW DO I KNOW IF THE PRICE YOU OFFER ME IS FAIR?

Our highly trained staff will appraise your vehicles, age, condition, mileage and market trends will always be a factor in determining the price. We have upto the minute auction data which we rely upon to give you the best price possible, we will guarantee the price given for 7 days.
